Qunubu, the origin of the word cannabis, in ancient Assyrian means “way to produce smoke.” I had the opportunity to work with Iliana Sergeev, Owner of iS Design Labs to create a digital mural illustration that would match the branding she created for the new company, Qunubu Cannabis. With some branding direction and research, I hand-drew and then digitized (traced over sketches in Adobe Illustrator) a collection of illustrations that represented the history of collecting, steaming, and smoking cannabis leaves. The digital illustration was then put up as a mural behind the check-out counter.
